Packing Tips
Packing Tips
Homeshipping.com customer representative will spend more time talking about packing than anything else. Packing is the most important part of the shipping experience.
- Bubble wrap all fragile
- After you pack and tape a box; shake it!! if there is anything playing inside the box while shaking, re-open and put more bubble or cushion to ensure there is no play inside the box
- Heavy items are loaded on the bottom, light items on top
- When packing books, try your best to pack them like you are putting them on a bookshelf standing up. That is their strongest position.
- Usa small boxes for your books, CD's and for the (heavy and dense items), use Medium boxes to pack personal items, and try your best not to use large boxes unless you have to
- Large boxes are easier to bust than smaller boxes and they are heavier and hard to transport.
- After your tape the middle flaps on the box, tape all twelve sides of each box. Each box has 12 sides.
- Buy one full role of tape for each box, Start from the bottom (without cutting the tape) and tape the box through to the top. Place box on the side and do the same thing.
- The stronger the box, the better the shipping experience. Buy high quality boxes, and invest into your packing.
If you follow the above packing tips, you will secure that your boxes will endure this very long trip. These boxes will go from your home to the driver's truck, to a warehouse, another truck, to the container….etc. By the time you receive them tens of people would have handled these boxes, if at anytime a box was dropped, the above "attention to the packing details" will save your boxes.
In conclusion, protect your shipment by investing in the packing

A Packing list is important to show customs the description and values of the items shipped.
Labeling your boxes
Imagine a brown box in a warehouse among thousands of other brown boxes without a labels to identify the piece. piece Imagine ten identical black bags in the baggage claim area with no labels on them. A Bag without label is a lost bag. To affix or tape a label on a box or a bag is extremely serious in our shipping industry. To eliminate or minimize lost bags as a result of a label peeling off you must make sure that the label will NEVER rub off or peel off. Your box or bag must always identified with labels. Below are instructions that we send to our clients when we send the BAR CODED booking labels.
When taping the labels, using a small pieces of tape secure the two identical labels on each side of the luggage or the box from the top and bottom. Using the wide transparent packing tape, start taping around the box carefully covering both labels without cutting the tape going around the length of the labels until both labels are completely covered with tape.
- Please find attached the Labels pertaining to your shipment.
- Please print the labels and Secure affixing the labels on all boxes.
- If label peals off, shipment may be be subject to loss.
- To avoid that, please affix two (of the same label) on each box;
- Place a copy of the same label inside the box (incase both labels on the sides peel off. With a black marker write down the tracking number on box.
- The tracking number is located (under the bar code) on the box.
- Make sure the boxes or luggage are well packed.
- We suggest that you wrap every box or luggage with plastic wrap or tape
- Load heavy items at the bottom, and light items on top.
- For boxes, make sure you tape the Middle of the box and tape all twelve edges of each box.
- Prepare the labels prior to the appointment time.
- Drivers are not allowed to go inside your home. Prepare boxes outside your door.
- Do not over pack. Your boxes will endure a very long trip.
- Tens of people will handle your boxes and luggage before you receive it again.
- If the box is too heavy and you cannot carry it, it will jeopardize the safety of the box.
- Make sure that your boxes do not leave your house before they are perfectly packed and protected.
- No one cares about your items more than you
